Our Mission

To glorify the Lord by supporting, encouraging, and assisting the family as they instruct their children in the wisdom and knowledge of God's grace with excellence.

Equipping students to cross over into the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge.

“That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:2,3

While the responsibility of teaching multiple students may at times seem overwhelming, we believe that God has uniquely equipped parents to teach their own children at home. All of us, however, have areas of weakness where we could use support.  Our goal at the The Bridge is to bring together in one place quality tutors, who have a passion for their subject, to help parents in areas where assistance is required.  After fifteen years of experience in offering home school co-ops and classes in the Memphis area, we have found that experienced homeschooling moms and dads who are enthusiastic about the subject they teach are exceptionally qualified to come along side other homeschooling families and provide support where there is a weakness in areas of instruction or where a classroom situation is more suitable for a subject.

Today it is easier than ever to home school your student from Kindergarten through graduation.  However, at times parents still feel inadequate to teach or even oversee some classes especially at the High School level.  At The Bridge, that is a problem of the past.  You never again need to disqualify yourself as your child’s teacher! The truth of the matter is, with just a little help when necessary, you are more than capable of teaching your child any subject required from Kindergarten through High School.  The Bridge is committed to offering classes that ensure you and your student have the support needed to successfully finish with excellence any course we offer through the aid of experienced tutors, excellent materials, and weekly accountability.

Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another. - G. K. Chesterton

  • Objective evaluations that measure success.

Tutors:

We believe God has brought together an exceptional group of men and women who are sympathetic to the demands of homeschooling, yet able to take students to the next level of learning in every subject offered at The Bridge by challenging them through excellence. Each of our tutors is first and foremost a born again, Bible-believing Christian who has a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Secondly, they are committed men and women who have a desire to serve the homeschool community. In fact, many of our tutors are either current or past home educators themselves. While many of our tutors are degreed, we have consistently found that the best teachers are those who have knowledge of and a passion for the subject they teach and a specific calling to be servant/leaders.

Parents:

We believe that parents are charged by God to be the primary teachers of their children. Our purpose is to support parents who have assumed responsibility for the education of their children. The Bridge is a group tutorial and NOT a school. Parents are considered the primary educators and are ultimately responsible for the performance of their child. Therefore, cooperation among tutor, student, and parent is essential. Parents are required to daily assist their child at home so that assignments are completed and handed in on time. Lack of parent involvement will result in poor success on the part of the student. However, students should be encouraged toward personal responsibility, motivation, and independence.

The Bridge is NOT an umbrella group; therefore, parents are responsible for registering with one of the approved Tennessee umbrella groups for all legal educational requirements and cumulative records.
